Skin cancer, particularly melanoma, is one of the most common cancers in New Zealand. High UV radiation exposure due to our geographical location and thinning ozone layer significantly increases our risk of developing skin cancer. Early detection through regular skin checks are so important to help identify potential skin issues before they develop into more serious issues. We are certified by the Skin Cancer Society of Australasia to perform dermoscopy skin cancer checks.
Full skin check consultation
This is for anyone who has never had a skin check before, who has a history of skin cancer or is at higher risk of developing skin cancer.
A comprehensive medical and family history is taken to help assess your risk.
Our skin specialists will provide a head to toe examination of your skin using a dermatoscope. Photos will be taken to help assess areas that may require further investigation or treatment. A referal to our specialist Dr will be made if any area requires biopsy or removal.
